The Grand Opening! A Highlight Reel of Our Pune Office Celebration

<span id="hs_cos_wrapper_name" class="hs_cos_wrapper hs_cos_wrapper_meta_field hs_cos_wrapper_type_text" style="" data-hs-cos-general-type="meta_field" data-hs-cos-type="text" >The Grand Opening! A Highlight Reel of Our Pune Office Celebration</span>

We recently celebrated the grand opening of our new office in Pune with an unforgettable ceremony. The event included a ribbon-cutting, Diya lighting, and inspiring speeches by our US and Indian team members. Here’s a recap of the event, which left some of our team members wishing they could stay in Pune!

Gathering Together

In October, Indian and American “control freaks” and their families arrived to celebrate Vertech’s new office in Pune, Maharashtra, India—known for IT, manufacturing and highly skilled engineers. President Titus Crabb, VP Bob Morris, HR Manager Lee Smith, and Director of Automation Paul Warning made the trek from the US to Pune to meet with India Managing Director Sudeep and the "Incredibles" India Team as well as some of the smallest new team members!

The Ribbon Cutting

The opening ceremony kicked off with a ribbon cutting, celebrating the official opening of the Pune office. Titus, Bob and Sudeep symbolically cut a red ribbon across the door, and everyone cheered! All the guests also signed a commemorative artwork of the building exterior. It's an homage to this milestone and also to the original India team that started it all.

Inside our New Office

The new office is similar to our other locations, but it also has its own unique feel. Lee Smith said, "None of our other office buildings are high-rise. They're all around one story... but inside, everything is pretty similar except that this building is a lot nicer."

We also had two murals specifically designed for our Pune office by artist & designer Nathan Dean. When you walk into the office entrance, you’ll immediately see the first mural, which features a world map with each of Vertech’s locations on it. Then, in the main open space, there’s an India-inspired mural that represents India's diverse culture, topography, and beautiful architecture. It includes famous landmarks like the India Gate and the Victoria Memorial as well as the national animal & bird: the royal Bengal tiger and the Indian peacock.

Nathan Dean said, "The office mural was designed to celebrate the vibrant spirit of India, capturing the country’s rich and diverse landscapes, cultures, and histories through a graphic style that harmonizes tradition with modernity. This piece is not only a tribute to the unity and craftsmanship that define India’s cultural tapestry but also a reflection of the same dedication to precision and innovation that Vertech brings to its engineering solutions. Just as the mural weaves together diverse elements into a cohesive vision, the Vertech team weaves complexity into excellence."

A Glowing Affair

In India, lighting Diyas, a traditional oil lamp, is a common practice with special meaning. A Diya can be a small, single lamp or a larger, ornamental stand holding multiple Diyas. Diyas symbolize positivity, unity, and luck and are commonly lit for festivals, ceremonies, and to celebrate new beginnings. In the spirit of this tradition, Titus, Bob and Sudeep lit diyas to celebrate our new office and the journey ahead.

Words to Remember:

Although it’s hard to beat the beautiful brass peacock Diya stand glowing with light, the speeches given by Titus and Sudeep were also memorable and moving.

President Titus Crabb talked about the motivation behind the Pune office and how the teamwork and collaboration between the Indian and American team members led them to create a more permanent physical presence. He also praised Managing Director Sudeep for his pivotal role both at Vertech and in establishing the Pune office. "This is our first international office. We have people in Canada, and we've had a few of you working here for a while, but this is our first actual office outside the United States. So it's a big step and a big accomplishment. Big things like this don't happen by themselves. And Sudeep has been instrumental in leading this effort."

speeches

Sudeep, the legend himself, expressed his gratitude—and may have teared up a bit—about his move back to his home city and his supportive India team. "I'm grateful to have a great team here with me... I'm very proud of you. There are quite a few of you guys who are very new to Vertech. But the attitude that you have to help each other and grow with each other's support has been tremendously commendable. We are going to do great things together."

By the way, if you haven't already, you don't want to miss reading more about our incredible India team here.

One for the Books

The ceremony concluded with a catered lunch at Vertech’s cafeteria, followed the next day by a separate Diwali celebration at a local restaurant. I think it's safe to say we like to party.

And with a grand opening celebration that won't be forgotten anytime soon, we can officially say that the Pune office is open! We are excited to foster a culture of excellence, build lasting team relationships and bring Vertech's solutions to our clients worldwide. We hope you'll join us for the ride.
